Topic: Embracing Agile Scrum: Lessons learnt in self-organization & servant leadership with Andrew Mitchell
2019 seems to be the year for Agile. More and more organizations are embracing Agile principles as a way to solve complex problems and quickly deliver value to customers. Scrum appears to be leading the charge. But what does it mean to be a Scrum team? How do teams self-organize? What does servant leadership mean and what is the role of the Scrum Master? This presentation will share lessons learned by a Scrum Master in his Agile journey toward leading a high performing and self-organizing Scrum team.
Learning Objectives are to share lessons learned on:
1. Building a high-performing Scrum team.
2. Delivering value through self-organizing teams.
3. The importance of true servant leadership from the Scrum Master.
Bio: Andrew Mitchell is an experienced Project Manager and Scrum Master. He has been working in software development since 1996. Andrew has held PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification since 2006 and recently achieved the Professional Scrum Master (PSM) designation from Scrum.org. Andrew is convinced that Scrum is the best way to solve complex problems and deliver value to stakeholders. Andrew is currently a Scrum Master with ResMed in Halifax.
