SUMMARY:Vibe Coding Meetup
DESCRIPTION:Description: \nJoin Volta for the next Vibe Coding Meetup with Sam Silver and guest speaker Graeme Zinck\, where they’ll explore AI Harness Engineering — an emerging discipline focused on building the infrastructure layer that enables AI agents to operate reliably in production environments. \nAs AI continues to move from experimentation to real-world deployment\, the challenge shifts from simply building models to ensuring they perform consistently\, safely\, and at scale. AI Harness Engineering addresses this gap by focusing on the systems\, tooling\, and practices required to support robust AI applications. \nWhether you’re actively building with AI or looking to better understand the evolving landscape\, this session will offer valuable perspective and practical take \n\n\n\n\nFacilitator: Sam Silver \n\n\n\n\nSam Silver is a Vibe Coding Coach and founder of Bayloch Technologies who helps businesses build applications in hours instead of weeks using AI-assisted coding. Having spent years honing AI-assisted development\, he now empowers others to embrace AI as an augmentation to their capabilities. \nGuest Speaker: Graeme Zinck \n\n\n\n\nGraeme is a senior software engineer at Lazer Technologies who helps startups build and scale their products with AI. These days\, he spends most of his time with Claude Code\, but he loves diving into the latest tools and building. Recent projects include: teaching Claude to update google docs autonomously\, creating skills to analyse Claude Code conversation bugs (using… Claude)\, and building an inexpensive workflow for scanning receipts. He also has fun hobbies like writing music\, baking muffins\, and going on walks.

SUMMARY:Halifax - Agentics Foundation Meetup
DESCRIPTION:♾️Agentics Foundation — Halifax Launch Meetup \nAutonomous AI in Practice: From Curiosity to Capability \nAgentic AI is no longer a theory experiment or a lab curiosity. It’s becoming a practical way to build systems that plan\, decide\, act\, and adapt\, with real autonomy. \nThis meetup marks the first Halifax gathering of the Agentics Foundation\, a global\, not-for-profit community dedicated to advancing agent-based artificial intelligence through open tools\, education\, and collaboration. \nWhether you’re new to the idea of autonomous agents or already experimenting with them\, this session is designed to help you understand what agentic AI actually is\, why it matters\, and how people are using it today. \nWhat You’ll Learn \n\n\nWhat “agentic AI” really means\nHow autonomous agents differ from chatbots\, copilots\, and traditional AI workflows. \n\n\nReal tools\, real demos\nSee practical examples using agentic frameworks and infrastructure\, how agents coordinate tasks\, persist memory\, and execute actions in the real world. \n\n\nFrom theory to practice\nWhere agentic systems are already being applied: automation\, research\, ops\, trading\, data pipelines\, and more. \n\n\nHow to get involved\nWays to contribute to open-source projects\, join global chapters\, or help shape the Halifax agentic AI community from day one. \n\n\nWhy This Meetup Matters \nHalifax has a growing tech ecosystem\, but many builders are still encountering AI only through APIs and prompts. \nThis meetup is about: \n\n\nLowering the barrier to entry for agentic AI \n\n\nCreating a local peer community for experimentation and learning \n\n\nConnecting Halifax builders to a global\, open\, ethical AI movement \n\n\nMaking autonomous systems understandable\, accessible\, and practical \n\n\nNo gatekeeping. No hype-only talks. Just clear explanations\, live examples\, and honest discussion. \nWho Should Attend \n\n\nSoftware developers & engineers \n\n\nStudents and researchers \n\n\nFounders and product builders \n\n\nData\, automation\, and AI practitioners \n\n\nAnyone curious about where AI is heading next \n\n\nYou do not need prior experience with agent frameworks to attend. \nAbout the Agentics Foundation \nThe Agentics Foundation is a not-for-profit organization focused on: \n\n\nAdvancing autonomous\, agent-based AI systems \n\n\nSupporting open-source tools and education \n\n\nBuilding an inclusive global community around ethical\, real-world agentic AI \n\n\nHelping individuals and organizations learn\, deploy\, and manage AI agents responsibly \n\n\nThis Halifax meetup is the starting point for a recurring local chapter with ongoing talks\, workshops\, and collaborations. \nIf you’ve been wondering “what’s beyond chatbots?” \nIf you’ve been curious but unsure where to start… \nIf you want to help shape how autonomous AI develops locally \nThis is your entry point. \nWe’d love to see you there.

SUMMARY:The FAST+ER Framework for Effective AI Prompts
DESCRIPTION:UX NS APRIL MEETUP \nLarge language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT and Claude are increasingly prevalent in both professional and personal settings. However\, the quality of an LLM’s output is directly influenced by the quality of its input. Weak prompts that lack essential elements will lead to unsatisfactory results. \nIn this talk\, UX NS will explore strategies for crafting effective AI prompts\, then delve into Nikki Anderson’s FAST framework for product prompts\, incorporating a few practical tips. Additionally\, they will examine how LLMs can be trained to utilize this framework to identify and improve weak prompts. \n> Agenda\n7:00 PM Doors open\, networking time\n7:15 PM Introductions from the event hosts\, Nata and Ruby\n7:20 PM The FAST+ER Framework for Effective AI Prompts with Charles Novabos\n7:50 PM Q&A\n8:15 PM Networking and wrap-up\n8:45 PM Doors close \n> Speaker Bio\nCharles Novabos (he/him) is a user experience researcher with over a decade of experience in various domains\, including e-commerce\, hardware development\, fintech and currently travel tech with WhereTo\, a subsidiary of Flight Centre Travel Group.
