Workshop for SMEs: Intellectual Property Strategy in the Space Sector

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) are co-hosting a workshop for SMEs currently involved in space activities and to SMEs of high technology sectors interested to do so. The global patent filing related to various areas of the space sector has consistently grown over the last 40 years, according to the report Patents in Space recently released by CIPO. It has been recognized that in general, firms that protect their intellectual property (IP) are more likely to increase their revenues through leveraging of their IP assets, than those that do not. SMEs that patent their invention have a stronger tendency to become high-growth firms and to export. Please join this interactive in-person workshop by the CSA and CIPO experts to enhance your knowledge on IP strategy, technology transfer and commercialization in a business environment. Please note that seating is limited and registration is mandatory—Register early to reserve your spot! Registration closes at 5 p.m. on November 5.
