DESCRIPTION:The Halifax Chamber of Commerce is working hard to provide our members with resources\, information and value. We are pleased to offer a round of FREE online training programs to help grow your business in collaboration with the Department of Labour\, Skills\, and Immigration. This program is offered to businesses\, managers\, and employees at zero cost as a benefit of your membership. \nTRAINING OVERVIEW:\nWebsite Design training is a 10 week program that will start on\, Tuesday\, January 23\, 2024 and take place once per week every TUESDAY from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. \nThese training sessions are in high demand with our members. Please consider your schedule beforehand and only register if you are 100% committed to fully participating in this training. This is a 40 hour course and you will be required to participate in 80% of the sessions in order to receive the certificate \n\nPreference will be given to members. Future members interested in joining\, please contact Jenn Kurmey\, Membership Sales Manager: jenn@halifaxchamber.com\nThere are only 12 spaces available for this session\, if the session is full\, please add yourself to the waitlist\, you will be contacted only if a spot opens up.\nWe are limiting this training to 1 employee representative per membership in order to allow more members the opportunity to participate.\n\nTRAINING TIMELINE: \n\nTo sign up for the training\, you must completed the required registration fields\, which are required by the Department of Labour Skills & Immigration.\nOnce you return your forms\, your contact information will be provided to your trainer and they will contact you to complete an Individual Needs Assessment to ensure this training is the right fit for you and your business.\nYour trainer will then become your point of contact for the training and they will provide you with the information on how to join the sessions each week.\n\nPARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:\n\nThe program must be taken on a computer\, laptop\, or tablet\, no phones.\nParticipants must have an Internet connection\, hardwired preferred vs wi-fi\, high speed no dial up.\nHeadset or earbuds and must have a webcam. If no webcam\, in-laptop video participation is a requirement.\nParticipants must display video; required to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants.\nA quiet place to focus is required\, free of distractions.\n\n*The above are critically important not only for the success of individual participants but also the success of the entire group. \nWEBSITE DESIGN TRAINING:\nThis 40 hour instructional course is designed to provide tools and templates to manage any project of and size. Following standard project management methodology\, the course will provide instruction in: \n\nSecuring and registering  domain\, create a custom email address\, determining budget for website hosting and email essentials.\nHighlights the differences between .com\, .net\, and other extensions\, and touches upon ICANN and Whois/WhoisGuard.\nChoosing the website builders and introduction to AI.\nKeywords\, meta description and usage of Google search driven images\nSEO internal and external links\, Google ETA\nWebsite security\, introduction to SSL/TSL\nSetup scheduling and payment gateways\nWebsite cookies and legal requirements\nWebsite monitoring and taking an action\n\nParticipants will be given the opportunity to work on real-life projects of their interest\, utilizing tried and true project management processes and the latest cloud-based software systems to assist with project management. \nABOUT THE TRAINER:\nZoran Jokic\, Training First Consulting \nUnlocking the potential of businesses is my passion.
