Building Leadership for Business Growth: A Framework for Competitive Advantage
Digital Nova Scotia (DNS) is introducing its Building Leadership for Business Growth Initiative – a first for the sector in Canada. Digital Nova Scotia (DNS) is pleased to invite its members to apply for this Applied Leadership program funded through the Workplace Innovation and Productivity Skills Incentive (WIPSI) Program. DNS and its members are breaking ground, creating a growth-oriented environment to build great global digital businesses. As the industry association for the fastest growing sector in our province, DNS is committed to building a globally competitive and entrepreneurial-driven eco-system in Nova Scotia.
The intended aim of investing in training and development for the leaders of technology businesses is to enhance their confidence with a firm foundation in leading and managing the growth of their businesses, motivating and managing high-performance cultures, understanding strategy and decision-making, and building self-awareness for effective communication and application of strengths.
This is an exciting opportunity for SME leaders and emerging managers from our member companies. The program is designed for those who supervise/lead/manage people and will help define, develop and apply their leadership and management skills to improve results. The program content includes a focus on the following:
- Leading Business Growth
- Vision, Innovation, and Leading Change
- Strategy, Judgment, and Decision-Making
- Leadership Strengths and Style
- Leading Teams
The value of the program is $5000, but is offered free-of-charge or at a 50% discount to DNS members who meet the criteria. Companies with less than 50 employees can have two employees take the program at no cost, and at 50 per cent discount thereafter. Companies with more than 50 employees can have employees participate with a 50 per cent discount. The program is available for up-to 20 participants who must be able to commit 3 hours per month for 12 months, beginning in June, 2014.
